Amanda Baggett Appointed Vice Chair of The Florida Bar’s Construction Law Certification Committee

Amanda Baggett, a partner with Baggett Law, has been appointed as Vice Chair of The Florida Bar’s Construction Law Certification Committee effective July 1, 2016.  Ms. Baggett has served on the Committee since her original appointment in 2014.

Ms. Baggett specializes in construction law matters and has represented a variety of clients, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in all aspects of construction – from contract negotiation to litigation.  Ms. Baggett has particular experience in cases involving roadway design and construction.

The Construction Law Certification Committee is comprised of nine members appointed by The Florida Bar President.  The Committee is responsible for evaluating candidates for board certification and preparing and grading the certification exam.  Board Certification is the highest level of evaluation recognized by The Florida Bar based upon competency, experience and professionalism within an area of law.  Currently, only 356 Florida attorneys are Board Certified in Construction Law.

Locally, Ms. Baggett serves as Vice Chair of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Construction Law Committee.  She also serves on the Fourth Judicial Circuit’s Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee and is a Board Member of the Early Learning Coalition of Duval.
